Review Material

This is a good review material for prelims as well as starters for mains. It is a one time read and may be shared rather than bought by all. Decent for those who do not take notes. Better to read NCERT 6-12 standard books for better grasp of concepts.

Indian and World Geography by Hussain

Book good for beginners. Not ideally suited for civil service aspirants. More fact oriented than concept. In civils you need more concepts than pure facts. Learning facts is like rote learning.Could have made better.

In A NUTSHELL type book

- Its Concise , immensely illustrative with lucidly explained topics.
- I suggest you to start with this. This will keep you interested and a diligent student cant finish this in 10-15 days.
-After this you may head forward to other bulky thick elaborate books if you want.

FACT ORIENTED..good for prelims.Better for Engineering Services. Perfect for crash courses.

Limited utility

this book is a disappointment since it does not meet the standards set by the author in his earlier book on indian geography. the book is too brief to remain of much use and though it mentions world geography it does not do any justice to it.
the problem however is in the absence of decent books on world geography, this will still be useful but in a limited sense. good for periphery reading

Very complex language

Language is very compact and so are the concepts. Don't go for it. Check out other options like Rajiv Ahir - Spectrum books.
