Gopal Singh aka Azad is a rogue, vagabond and rootless man. He enjoys reading books, writing poetry, and directing plays. Whenever he gets a job he teaches English and dramatics in Chandigarh. His hometown is Mohali. When jobless, he cherishes the parks and gardens of the city by taking long walks. He has made many unsuccessful attempts at leaving this city but it seems the city roads are obsessed with him and he is obsessed with the city. He is working on his second book of poetry and is fighting the pain in his right shoulder at the moment.
