If you are still undecided on wheather you should go with a 'K' or non 'K' series CPU, I suggest you look at the price/performance ratio on the basis of four factors.

A K series cpu will effective longetivity to your rig at the expense of additional upfront expenses

a) MoBo which support overclocking will be more expensive than than a vanilla one (extra 3-4K)
b) you will need to spend extra on a good CPU cooler (2K)
c) you will need a higher wattage cpu (extra 1K)
d) Lastly a K series pro...

This is a great cpu with the latest intel's ivy bridge chipset
22nm technology and 4 cores which is more than enough if ur soul purpose is gaming and video editing or watching hd videos
it has intel hd graphics 2500 so u don't need to buy a extra gpu if ur nt gaming
if ur a overclocker then go for the 3570k version it will cost u more 2-3k
i think 3.1ghz is enough for gaming

I have purchased from local store. This is a very powerful CPU for gaming as most of the games in current scenario are not optimized to use more than 4 cores. In combination with a good Z77 board and GPU it can deliver outstanding performance. My rig Config:

A Great Product no doubt about it and a quality product from intel..One of the smooth, fast processors with very minor heating and fan noise. It gave life to my computer with ultra fast processing and gaming. Loving it all the way.

Purchased this processor for my first mid range gaming build in a long time. Works like a jet engine. It's been able to handle everything I've thrown at it, and I've yet to see it go above 50% usage. Stock heatsink keeps it nice and cool, idles at around 22C.Very cool temp, even while gaming. This processor met all expectations at a great price point. Very satisfied with this processor so far. A big step up from my previous Core 2 Quad Q9400.

Powerful CPU at a good price; significantly cheaper than 3470 or 3570 which are only slightly higher in clock frequency. Although be warned, that the on chip graphics on this chip, are absolutely not meant for graphic intensive gaming. Worked for me as I am not a gamer. If you want better graphics on-chip go for 4th gen i5s with Intel HD graphics 4600 or 3rd gen chips with Intel HD graphics 4000.
