    Core i5 2500k

Good processor with an unlocked multiplier. Almost makes the core i7 2600 pointless but for a few. For Gaming Build combine with an Biostar tz68k also available on flipkart and 8GB of dual channel ram, with a good graphics card like AMD HD6850 or GTX460 and corsair cx430 SMPS. If u want to have flexibility of future upgrades then combine with ASUS P8p67-m-pro or asus maximus IV gene-z or asus p8z68v motherboard along with a good SMPS like corsair TX650. This will provide u the ablity of addi...

Best processor for gamers and overclockers

The i5-2500k is the processor you should look for if you are into serious gaming . This processor comes with its core multiplier unlocked which means that you can overclock this beast to like 4 -- 4.5 Ghz easily by pairing it with an aftermarket cooler or better the corsair water cooler .

In most of the benchmarks comparing it with the amd phenoms like the Phenom 2 X6 1100T black edition which is almost on the same price range the i5 emerges as the clear winner .

if you dont multitask a l...

    Best Processor for all purpose

I used this for last two months i bought it from flipkart it works fine it works as well as i expected. its too good for gamers, video editing, video converting also multitasking. I personally work like DVD burning, windows media player playing for listening music converting video by converting software(format factory) all at a time it works very smoothly and very fast. Its turbo-boost technology is very good, i found in CPUZ that clock speed 3.4,3.5 maximum i got 3.67Ghz speed almost all tim...

    I5 2500K = I7 2600 for cheaper price

This processor is a beast in itself. If you are planning to do video editing and software rendering go for the i7 Sandy Bridge.Even in that you would see only a marginal increase in performance about 10%. But for the rest this PC packs the punch. It offers exceptional performance for the value and clearly equals I7 in any games. The best processor out there at the moment. I reckon Ivy bridge to be too costly and thus this one can serve for the next 3 yrs well.Go for it

    Intel i5-2500k vs AMD FX8150

Well after a long and deep study on these two finest processors....
I would go with Intel i5-2500k....!!
For People who are confused between these 2,
if you are Moderate to Heavy Gamer,or Multitask-er,
Sooner or later you are gonna feel the difference even if FX 8150 is compacted with higher specs,i5-2500k rose over almost every segment. (but with a NARROW MARGIN in few)
Trust me..its a long time while i have been searching for a good processor for my assemble...and after visiting no. of site...

GAMING PROCESSOR - Best value for money

I was planning on building an amazing gaming rig n was reaaly confused choosing b/w the i7-2600K and i5-2500K. Many of you must be facing the same dillema.

If you are planning to do a lot of gaming and light video editing then go for the i5-2500K.Put the extra 6000 in a graphic card or ram.
But if your purpose is high end sound n video editing, then i7-2600K will give a better performance.

I choose the i5-2500k n surely made the right decision. It is an awesome processor and great for over ...

Overclocker's Heaven heart of a gaming machine ......

extraordinary performance in overclocking, i tamed the beast to 4.2 without water cooling i am still using an old complete copper cooler (cooler master hyper 48) cpu cooler....
quite stable and optimum performance for most of the demanding titles (games) out there though i purchased it from the Nehru palace it market
it costed me a bit less than the offer at flip kart....
it you want a gaming CPU don't give a second thought at any other option from intel or AMD camp go for it guys.. remembe...

@santosh Sharma support for ram larger than 4 gigs only on 64bit windows

Santhosh the reason you are seeing only 3.2GB usable ram is because you have a 32 bit operating system .
On a 32 bit OS max addressable physical memory is only 4GB so even if you have 32 gigs installed OS can never use beyond 4Gig .

To use more than 4 Gigs of memory you should install windows 7 64bit

If you have bought windows 7 home premium retail pack then when you install it gives you an option to install either x86 mode (which is 32 bit) and x86-64 which is 64bit os

    not an issue of ...

    Sandy Bridge FTW !!!!!

Well , there are enough reviews boasting about this beast on the numerous professional sites,so nothing new to say here.

I just jumped from a 2.2 Ghz Core2Duo to 3.3 Ghz i5 2500k... so the performance jump is massive.

    I tested out several benchmarks
3D Mark06 gave a CPU score of 6067 with Norton 360 running in the background.
Paired it with a Asus P8h61 MPlusV2 Board for now(will get z68 later), and it works great
I can now play BATTLEFIELD 3 at High Settings paired with a HD6750 1 GB DDR5...
