Nigel Benson was born in 1955 in Buckinghamshire, England. His father was an artist. He earned an Honours Degree in Psychology from the North East London Polytechnic. He later earned a Masters degree in education. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate studies at the University of London Institute of Education. His first published book was Dunstable In Detail, an illustrated guide to the town of Dunstable. He is however most famous for his illustrated guides to Psychology, Psychiatry and Psychotherapy.
