I have ordered this book for my brother appearing for GATE. He is very happy to get such a book in which all topics are covered in concise and easy to understand manner. There is another book of same Author in Automata published by Pearson in Express learning category, that book is also too good.
This book is also helpful for semester of CS IT.

I usually do not write reviews. But this is an excellent student friendly text book containing lots of example's and algorithms which make the study of Automata, a lot easier as compared to the standard textbooks like Sipser, An absolute Gem, Also contains an introduction to Compilers

After struggling with this subject for a while, I invented a recipe on how to tackle it. For theoretical concepts start by just watching the lectures of Kamala M'am (NPTEL) and keep referring to the two materpieces - Sipser and IA Cohen alongside (Cohen and Sipser both are great in making theoretical concepts ultra-CLEAR to the novice reader - Ullman,Hopcroft can be avoided). Once you are done with a couple of topics and chapters this way, this book will have sufficient examples and questions...
