The author, Dr. S. Jose was a faculty at TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. He retired from service during 2019 as Professor. Dr. S. Jose, taught similar courses to several batches of B. Tech students during his 30 year career at TKMCE. He is the author of many other popular textbooks on Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Advanced Mechanics of Solids, Manufacturing Technology, Computer Programming and Numerical Methods etc. The second author, Dr. Sudhi Mary Kurian taught this course to many batches at TKM College of Engineering. She retired as Professor of Dept. of Civil Engineering, from TKM College of Engineering in 2019.
