Looks like the book has not been edited for long. Words used are so complex. Mere reproduction of excerpts from different sources. This much touted book came as a disappointment to me.

DD Basu is one of the best books available for Indian Polity n Constitution.. The writing style of the author is excellent. Between Lakshmikanth n DD will suggest to go for lakshmikanth first.. And for deep dive go 4 this one..

I had bought this book some days ago only and started reading.At first i found it boring but when i switched to some 13th or 14th page it was a miraculous work by late basu ji.
The book is written in a beautiful language and a layman too can understand this book very well.

I am unable to understand why people are giving 2 or 3 stars for a five star deserving book. It should be kept in mind that Acharya Basu is no more that is why updation is not possible until someone takes the charge as coauthor . Also someone has complained that book has religious symbols so he has given 2 stars . I do not understand how this can degrade a book .To be religious or non-religious is personal matter and being a non-religious person does not
mean to disregard any religion.

Must buy for UPSC aspirants. Things given in detail. The print and the presentation is also great. The more you read this the more your understanding will be.

Detailed, self explanatory and informative book. Usually study of Constitution of India is considered as law students' and civil service aspirants' subject. But if you are none of these, and feeling boring to read about it, I advise to start with this book. Interested will grow automatic while reading book. I haven't read the book completely yet. Gone through few chapters. It looks like the matter is well organized.

My only complaint is that, on first two pages there seems to be some religious mark.
One page contains date of Ram Navami and the other had date of Krishna Jayanthi i guess. Also, there was a quote from Gita on one page. I am non-religious and had to tore them off my book.

Earlier purchased few other books on Indian Constitution, but as one of my Advocate Uncle mentioned 'DD Basu Book' stands best.

Spending 100 for petrol and roaming around the city(Without Guarantee on Availability), ordering & collecting at home is something one can call as 'Minimal Effort'.

This book can be considered as a Holy book of any religion because it gives the complete perspective about the Origin and Existence of Our Constitution that with a lot of facts and Case studies, which helps not only prelims but also Mains GS.
