2 quick (i think that varies because someone in the reviews section mentioned that it takes 3.5 minutes to start up. mine hardly takes 10 secs,

Excellent stuff. Has a lot of features which are not mentioned here like, bluetooth connectivity ( with a usb bluetooth dongle). For windows user no software is required for basic setup. Does what it claims and with ease. Period.
Setting up was breeze. Transfer rates of 5mbps over wifi and around 8-10 through ethernet cable connected to laptop. Which is slow compared to a hard disk, but then this is a server and not a plain vanilla hard disk. Transferred 500 gb of data, a one time pain for me.

This backup storage for use on your home router lan. It is an excellent product . You feel as if you have another computer for your backups.It connects easily on macs, linux , windows etc. A cross platform storage and file sharing . It works as central storage. Highly recommend this product.

I wanted a hard disk that can be accessed by multiple devices (laptops, ipad, mobile and TV) over the network (wired or wireless) in my house. The plan was to keep all the media (Music, Photos and Videos) in a central location. Also wanted to schedule backups of all laptops to this drive.
Flipkart had two products which fit my needs, one by WD and the other by iOmega. Decided to buy the one from iOmega since it has two USB ports which were missing in the one from WD. Also iOmega was cheaper.
