Battle Of The Flagships: Google Pixel XL vs iPhone 7 Plus

When the Google Pixel entered the market everyone thought that it would outshine the iPhone in sales. Some even thought that it would overthrow the iPhone off the market.
But what is really going on? Is one of the two phones better than the other? Or are they in the same boat? Let’s take a closer look.

Performance

The Google Pixel XL runs on the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 and a 4GB RAM and while the iPhone 7 runs on the 64-bit A10 Fusion Chip processor. There are certain tests that suggest that the A10 beats the Snapdragon 821. But users suggest that both the latest mobiles are very smooth to use. Some have suggested that even if they play games with high-intensity graphics or work with photos and videos, both phones have found to be faster than other mobile phones in the market.
The Google Pixel XL and the iPhone 7 have variants that differ in terms of ROM memory. The Pixel is an Android mobile phone while the iPhone runs on iOS.

Design

Both the designs of the Pixel and the 7 Plus are very solid and compact. The Pixel is made out of both glass and metal but the iPhone is made mostly of metal. A special feature of the iPhone is that it’s water resistant and can still work if you drop it in the shower or even if it has to face moderate rainfall.
Another major difference between the two phones is the location of the fingerprint sensor. The iPhone 7 Plus has it on the front and the Pixel XL has it in the back. Many users have suggested that the fingerprint scanner of the Pixel is more accurate and fast compared to the one on the iPhone.

Display

The pixel has an AMOLED display while the iPhone has an LCD screen. Both the displays are 5.5 inches and Google calls it the Quad HD display while Apple calls it the Retina display. Users have found that the colors in the pixel have found to be brighter and vibrant, while the colors in the iPhone are more accurate and realistic.

Camera

The camera is amazing when it comes to both phones. Online reviews on photography websites have praised both phones equally. The Pixel XL has an uber cool HDR plus a lot of image detailing options but it lacks the optical zoom from the 7 Plus. Thus these two cameras have found to be equally good for both amateur and professional photographers.
Hardware

The Google Pixel XL has a 3.5mm headphone jack and it can be charged with a USB Type-C cable. The iPhone 7 does not have a headphone jack but it has stereo speakers. Both the phones do not support extended storage.

Siri vs Google Assistant

Did you know that the Google Pixel was the first ever smartphone to have the Google assistant? The Google assistant is found to be more exciting and more interactive than its counterpart, Apple’s Siri which has found only to display a bunch of search results from the internet.

Battery Life

Both the iPhone 7 Plus and the Google Pixel XL are very good at drinking battery juice. But fortunately, both of them have options called the ‘Doze” for the Pixel and ‘Low power mode’ for the 7 Plus that can minimize the battery drain on a great scale.

Software

If you want the ultimate Android experience, Google Pixel is the right phone for you. Similarly, the iPhone 7 Plus offers iOS experience with 3D Touch.
Both the mobiles have one-year manufacturer warranty. However, the when it comes to both mobile’s price, they vary on a very small scale, but the price is high. From the article, there are people who are sometimes fine with any drawbacks the iPhone has, while some just need the features of the Google pixel. Both of the phones are equally good and one of the top model smartphones in the market. You can get both mobiles online.
