Essentially this is an IR receiver and transmitter.
Rest of the functionality depends on the app.
Full DIY remotes won't be integrated with Alexa etc but can modify even preprogrammed remotes also and there is a vast variety of them.
Usually full DIY is not needed.
Preprogrammed remotes, even after modification will be integrated into home assistants like Google or Alexa.
Works from power bank for portability.
