Helps you dive in the ocean of JAVA, but after that you are on your own

This book is perhaps the best read for beginners, given its crisp and detailed explanations of basic JAVA concepts.

The book will help you a lot in diving the vast ocean of JAVA and will give a strong base over the language to help you in learning further. It is also the best textbook you can refer to, if you are having JAVA as a subject in your undergrad.

But it has a limitation. This book is not at all good for learning advanced JAVA concepts, so don't expect that you can fight SCJP or s...

    two thumbs up!!

the book's great for beginners who're starting out with Java. i had done basic C, skipped the object oriented C and gone straight to Java (though i wouldn't recommend doing this to others) and this book still managed to keep the level of difficulty low enough for the concepts to be understood and the yet the powerfulness of the language to be grasped.

much props to flipkart too. had the book in my hand in about 36 hours from placing the order in great condition and a price less than most b...

A must for JAVA beginners !!

This is all what you need to start your java journey.
Otherwise if you are all new to any programming language
then I would recommend "Head First Java" by Kathy Sierra,
if you enjoy studying a subject interactively.

To remind you this is just a reference book so there are no practice problems, so keep practicing on your own. Good luck !!

I'm an experienced C/C programmer. I find this book very useful. This book covers everything about Java from scratch. Newbies to programming and Java will have to read it in detail while experienced guys can skim through part 1 of this book.

    The Ultimate Java Guide!

If you want to really LEARN the Java language right from the basics, this book is a must. The core concepts of Java have been simplified with suitable examples and the elaboration of every core concept has been put forward in a simple style.

However this book doesn't really explain much the topics like swing, beans, jdbc etc although they have been introduced at appropriate places...

But whatever,if you want to understand the CORE CONCEPTS that make Java the language it is ,this is THE book t...

    Best Java book for beginners

This book is a must for those who wish to begin Java themselves. The author starts from scratch. The basic concepts are covered well before half of the book; the rest of the book explains the powerful Java libraries and many of the functionality of Java. Great book overall.

    Never buy from Flipkart

Please not buy it from Flipkart. It will steal your money. I place an order for this book, but I won't receive it and status shows that it is delivered. It is better to buy any book from local store(as you can choose it from the store ), not from online stores.
