Im a front end web developer, i use jQuery n js scripts everyday. I bought this book speacial to create my own JS files and app. I just started reading it. and found that its quite interesting. It covers from basic to intermediate level. Its the fatest javascript book.

But I think its best for who is starting in JavaScript and want dive into HTML5 :) I can finally say, after geting lots of JS books, I found what I wanted.

I even got JavaScript: The Good Parts, but its not for beginners.

Very good book.

It is kind of a reference book & goes in detail for each and every topic. This is not a book to learn JavaScript in a short period of time, if you are in a hurry to learn JS you look elsewhere. But you definitely need this book to understand the each feature in detail.

It has a good coverage of latest features of HTML5. Some of the new areas ( the standard is not finalized) are also covered (eg. IndexDB) with right details.

I have read all the popular Javascript books, and this one is best by far. Most javascript books teach you enough to write a few lines in pure javascript before invariably falling back to jQuery library. This book teaches you enough so that you can write your own jQuery like library. Of course, you need to look into the source code of Gecko and webkit to do some real work, but that is a given anyway.

I would tell this book is just awesome, David Flanagan has authored this book in such a way that both experienced and inexperienced people find it equally useful. The book is well organized,Its starts with simple details and takes you into depth in a flow without missing even minute of the minute details.I recommend this book to every programmer whether experienced or inexperienced.Its a good book to have real understanding of basic core JavaScript.

This book explains JavaScript concepts in detail. Anybody who buys this book should read it with dedication. I mastered JavaScript by reading this book. I was also able to make JavaScript powered web pages using knowledge I gained from this book. The best way to learn is to apply practically what we study from this book. I recommend this book.

This is out standing book for complete reference to JavaScript technology . This provides comprehensive analysis about java script . Along with this it is flooded with example that can be very helpful to understand the core concepts .I have read this book in bits and pieces .In start I was very naive to JavaScript language .But going through the book I became adept in the language . This book could also ber a very good read for beginners .I highly recomend this book for webdevelopers .

good book , too fat , has got 2 separate parts , Core and Browser , Very little info on server side. Read this and js is done.
Actual no. of pages is 700 Approx + Reference.
Upto date with html5 ecma5 no mention of ecma6 till what i have read.

Its one of the best book I ever read.
It gives us depth knowledge on JS.

I recommend this book to my friends.
