Questions and Answers
Q:What strings do I need?
A:The sound you produce will be directly affected by the type of string you choose. The material and gauge will depend mostly on the type of music you want to play and the type of guitar used : acoustic or electric. Begin with lighter string gauge. It produces less tension and generally easier for beginners to work with. Beginner guitar strings should be light to to build callouses and hand strength For electric players, use gauge of .009 inches to .042 inches, or .010 inches to .046 inches (also known as “nines” or “10s”) For acoustic players, use gauge of .011 inches to .052 inches (also known as 11s)

Q:String Material recommendation
A:Electric guitar - Nickel strings: Clear and articulate, versatile choice for rock, blues and jazz players & Stainless steel strings: Bright and less prone to wear, good for hard rock and metal Acoustic guitar - Phosphor bronze: great choice for strummers. Nylon strings for classical guitar, it is thicker, but easier to press down for new players and won't cause as much early finger-tip soreness

Q:Should I learn on an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar?
A:It all depends on your personal preference and the type of music you want to play. Both guitars have their unique advantages. Acoustic guitar, is a lesser investment because it doesn’t require additional equipment. It will ease future transition to electric guitar as you will be already acclimated to heavy acoustic strings. Electric Guitar have thinner strings and slimmer neck therefor a great choice for beginners as it requires less hand strength and warrants an easier grip and shorter reach

Q:Do I need other equipments to get started?
A:Yes! right equipment can make all the difference in your technique and tone. As you mature as a player, you can surround yourself with multiple choices of accessories but for now, here are some of the absolute must haves: Picks - You need start with thin picks . Thin picks will help you learn to strum well. You can then upgrade using picks with Medium thickness - these are good for playing notes individually Tuner - Tune your guitar every time you play as its very important to be in tune. You can either tune yourself or use a tuner. Tuners are simply more pratical and precise. Capo - A guitar capo is used to shorten the length of the fretboard, raising the key one half-step for every fret in both acoustic and electric guitars. Capos allows you to take what you can already play on the guitar as a beginner and expand it much further. Why try to learn how to play a song in the key of F when you can just add a capo to the 3rd fret and play in the much easier key of D? Guitar Stand - Guitar stands are a great accessory for your guitar and can help prevent your guitar from falling over and getting damaged if you’re used to just setting your guitar against a wall with nothing to hold it upright Guitar Strap - Guitar strap is a must have guitar accessorie if you play your guitar standing up. It will help hold your guitar up while you play and they are also adjustable so you can have your guitar hang at whatever height you prefer. Guitar Cables - Guitar cables are necessary if you have an electric guitara or a guitar with pickup that needs to be plugged into an amplifier. Pay attention to the end pieces (the ends where the cable plugs in) and the length of the cable. There are generally 3 configurations for end pieces – both straight, one straight and one 90-degree angle, and both 90-degree angle. Go with whatever configuration of end pieces fits your need best. Length of the cable should give you freedom to move around after you connect to your amplifier.
