This novel is a unique kind of crime thriller where the detective Sasagaki solves the crime after 20yrs of investigation.... It has some beautiful quotes which is worth reading several times... The twist during the climax was also good and enjoyable...
However it also has certain negative aspects such as:
1. The sub plots are far more extending than they should have been.
2. Its clear that Yukiho and Ryo shared a special kind of love but its not well flourished in the novel... Higashino shou...

It has phenomenal details of every event. Treuly mysterious . I loved the way the story moves ahead. A must read

Little different from his previous books [Devotion of suspect X and Salvation of saint], and story is very gripping like those novels.

This novel has too many characters and remembering all those japanese characters names is pretty confusing.
Its a must read novel for all those higashino's fans.

Left it half way as could not recall characters by their names.

Great ending indeed. loved the charecters sasagaki, imaeda and ryo. a true feel of real police investigation continued even after hitting dead ends.. This story might seem to be difficult to catch first as there will be many characters and the story runs on quite a good length on happening of incident but they actually have their detailed reference when rementioned or pointed again later.. So don't worry, this is a good book indeed
