chicken KARI for the soul

A wonderful read indeed. It is profound, true and precise in its depiction of the crucial issues that the story deals with which are love, loss, alienation and city life. The insights that the author offers for simple and commonplace issues are thought provoking. One can enjoy the novel both subjectively as well as objectively. As we know , a picture is worth a thousand words, Patil with her intelligently creative illustrations makes the reading experience have a lasting impression .The fragment...

A very real gal : Kari

I found the visuals very imaginative and the story quite touching in its potrayal of loneliness and struggles of life in a big city. Impressive for a debut. Looking forward to reading her other works.

Go for it!!!!

This was my first Indian Graphic Novel - worthy of every penny I paid for this.

The story is quite different- beginning with an unsuccessful double suicide and follows the aftermath of one of the victim, Kari.

While, the love of her life -Ruth, leaves her after the suicidal attempt- Kari turns back to her ruined life slowly manages to overcome Ruth but failing in every attempt.

With unusual illustrations, Amruta had penned a dark- compelling story which makes you want more.

Worth reading

Kari is a dark graphic novel. It a must read for everybody who is into graphic novels. It has suicide, homosexuality, death despair.
Amurta has a different narrative style, and for some strange reasons I am liking it. Looking forward to buy "Adi Parva". Hope it'll also have the same writing style.
