    Description

Killing Ashish Karve: An Inspector Saralkar Mystery is a gripping and deliciously thrilling whodunit by bestselling Indian author, Salil Desai.

    Summary of the Book

Killing Ashish Karve is a spine-chilling murder mystery which follows the adventures and exploits of Senior Inspector Saralkar. After a rather annoying week at a Secrets of Living course, Inspector Saralkar is back in action. The body of an affluent, local businessman, Ashish Karve was found in the back seat of his car. Saralkar’s assistant, Motkar is certain that it is a straightforward case of suicide, but Saralkar’s sharp mind is agog with the possibility of a murder. He interrogates the victim’s friends and family and finds enough motives for his wife, brother, close friend and brother-in-law to murder him. Will Saralkar be successful in nabbing the murderer?

    Lovely detailing in the book

This book probably has to be among the best books which details the mundane yet important job of the police investigating a crime. Most books and movies tend to deal with only the important parts of the investigation and gloss over the other parts, but the author has taken pains to present the same in a detailed and interesting manner. All readers would surely appreciate policemen investigating a crime a little more after reading this book.

What worked really well for me in the book was the ...

    Really Really Good.

Very good book.I have always wanted Indian characters and Indian settings. It is always better to have a Deepak strolling in Pune Road rather than Robinson strolling in the New York Subway. One relates much better to our own people and settings.
I am trying surely trying his other book now.

    A real page-turner!

Detective novels are not usually my cup of tea, but I picked this up and found it very gripping! This is a murder mystery with good depth of character, and you will find it hard to put down.

    Disappointing

The book started off well but story fails to hold you till the end.. It becomes very predictable. Moreover the lead charector of Saralkar does not stand out.
