It's material is quite soft and manageable despite it's thickness, I'm yet to use it, so I can't comment on the slip resistance.

This is just the best yoga mat anyone could ask for. Its especially best if you have sensitive joint issues. The mat doesn't slide or slip.
I do noticed a few small tears around the edges though.
