Many have grown up listening to stories about Krishna and his childhood. Born to Devaki by mental transmission from the mind of Vasudeva, Krishna is the eighth child born to the couple. Mathura is Krishna’s birthplace and is also where he and his family belong. It was the capital of the Yadava kingdom which was, at the time, ruled by Kansa, Devaki’s brother.

He usurped power by imprisoning his father King Ugrasena. The story of Krishna Aur Kans follows the early childhood of young Krishna from his birth to how and where he spent his childhood. The animated film also delves into the journey of Krishna’s childhood and the trials and tribulations that he faced, together with his brother Balarama.

The evil king Kans had imprisoned his family and murdered the first six siblings of the Lord due to a prophecy that stated that Kans would be killed by Devaki’s eighth child. The animated family movie for children has been directed by Vikram Veturi and has Om Puri, Juhi Chawla, Anupam Kher and many other noted names lending their voices to the characters.
