Most of the Christians who donated to the Tamil language were well versed in Western languages. The work they have done is multifaceted. Some people showed the wealth of Tamil Nadu art to the westerners. Some of them explained the characteristics of Tamil literature through song and speech. Some have brushed aside the antiquity and refinement of Tamil through grammatical research. Some of the above helped to compile the Tamil dictionary in the country system. Some volunteered to compose encyclopedias in clear Tamil script. Thus Tamil is intervening for the benefit of the good deeds done by many.
