Kumarsambhav is an epic poem written by the classical Sanskrit writer Kalidasa, in Sanskrit. It is the story of how the young God Kumara was born as result of the union of Lord Siva and Parvati and their boundless love. This is the Hindi version of the original work.

Summary of the Book

Kumarasambhava is considered as one of the greatest epic poems written in Sanskrit. The verses of this poem have been composed in eight cantos and the metaphors conjured up in this work inspire writers to the present day. This Hindi version is a brilliant translation of the eroticism and beautiful imagery of the original work.

About Kalidasa

Kalidasa was the most famous Sanskrit writer, poet and dramatist. Most of his works are based on the stories and characters found in Hindu philosophies. Some of his most famous works are Abhijnanasakuntalam, Malavikagnimitram, Vikramorvasiyam, Raghuvamsa and Meghaduta.

Kalidasa - The immortal Poet

I have not gone through this book but I did read Kumarasambhava by Kalidasa from internet sources. Believe me you cannot dare to step back reading this epic. Wonderful book to read.
