UNDERSTANDING SAMURAI KUROBUSHI LAYERS- 1. PRIMER – This is a preparatory coating put on materials before Priming ensures better adhesion of paint to the surface, increases paint durability, and provides additional protection for the material being painted. Many people experienced paint crack/paint bite problems when repainting with spray paint but now with our new generation of PRIMER (2K04 Surfacer) you can prevent paint crack and paint bite problems. 2. BASE/UNDER COLOR COAT – This is applied after the primer coat. This coat contains the visual properties of color and effects, and is usually the one referred to as the paint. This is needed if the final desired color is a bright color such as yellow, red, fluorescent colors, etc. It is also used when Khameleon or 3D color is used. For darker colors such as black, grey, brown, dark blue, etc, you can skip the base color coat and proceed directly to the top color coat. 3. TOP COLOR COAT – This is the coating of the final desired color of paint. 4. TOP CLEAR COAT – Sprayed on top of the top color coat, this is a high gloss or Matt transparent coating that forms the final interface with the environment. SAMURAI KUROBUSHI SPRAY PAINT PROCEDURE- 1. Sand and rinse the part to be painted. The previous clear coat should be sanded off with wet 800/1000 grit sandpaper and washed properly so no dust, grease or any other dirt is on the item. 2. Spray Samurai 2K04 Surfacer as primer for plastic or already painted parts or 2K05 Red Oxide Anti-rust Surfacer or 2K06 Silver Grey Anti-rust surfacer for raw or new metal parts. 3. After the primer has dried, the surface must be sanded again with 800/1000 grit sandpaper and rinsed. After sanding with 1000 grit sand again with 2000 grit.(If this step is skipped, the final result will still have a glossy finish, but if this steps are followed, the final product will have a mirror finish) 4. Spray the undercoat/base color coat if using fluorescent colors ( UC1002 U/C Flourescent), bright colors such as red, yellow, etc (2/102 White), Khameleon 3D Paint (30/109 Black) and 2-coat system. If dark colors like black or grey, there is no need for an undercoat. 5. Spray the top color coat. 6. Spray the Top Clear coat using Samurai 2K01 Clear Gloss for the best glossy finish and good protection for your motorcycle or 2K01A Clear Matt for matt finish.
