I chose this hard drive since I wanted a FireWire hard drive and since I found very favourable reviews on other websites. It works precisely as specified.

Pros:
- Firewire connectivity achieves speeds faster than that of USB 2.0
- Also has USB 3.0 connectivity
- Appears sturdy enough to withstand rough handling, though I haven't tried dropping it yet!

Cons:
- Quite expensive
- Software is not very flexible. Pro-users would want to reformat the drive to their specifications.

Please do not buy this hard drive. Its absolute waste of money. The product has stopped working and there is no way it can be fixed. I have hard drives from Transcend and WD which were purchased in 2009 and 2010. These are working perfectly fine. But Lacie, which is so called Rugged, etc is nothing but just a piece of thrash for the price sold.

Please avoid buying this hard drive. After wasting huge money, I thought my data will be secure. But this hard drive proved to be the worst investment ever. I took utmost care of this and even without a single mis-handling, it stopped working after a year (used 4-5 times). And NO!!.. I could not get my data back from such a hyped hard disk. NEVER BUY THIS PRODUCT!
