Basic and Slightly primitive

The book is complete, it has the BASICS of maintenance, nutrition, workouts and planning. But it's very basic and a little outdated for a 2012 edition of the book. The heart rate training explain the zones and how to accurately calculate them but then nothing more like creating your workout or having training plans. Some chapters are useless like weather conditions and mental toughness and what is Lance's present (then present) state. The chapter on strength training is not very useful again....

Bloody brilliant !!

Excellent place to start up for intermediate cyclists stuck up in a rut. There is data, data, and more data to work with in this book. Charmichael outlines the training program that made Lance used during his ascent to the top of the cycling world. For all those self taught cyclists doing lone rides, this book should definitely put you on the right path
