  • Description
A Hollywood star and an English aristocrat exchange souls while under ether at the dentist and the result is mayhem. Though his golden curls and sweet expression make him the idol of mothers throughout America, Joey Cooley is a tough nut who wants nothing more than to revenge himself on the agents, directors and producers who make his life a misery, before escaping back to Ohio. When his soul is transplanted into the body of an English earl with a boxing Blue he has the chance to 'poke them all in the snoot'. Lord Havershot, meanwhile, finds himself under the thumb of the fierce Miss Brinkmeyer and terrorized by the boy stars Joey has supplanted. The result is Anglo-American farce with the lightest of touches.

    Wonderful gift for my mother-in-law

It was a joy to see the smile on her face when she opened her package. Thank you, Flipkart, for delivering this package on time and just the way I wanted, with a personal note.

    Wodehouse is brilliant

PG Wodehouse is absolutely capital, a true master of the English language. I am a big fan of Wodehouse and this book did make a great read. The story is full of rummy twists I tell you, what with this and that. A twelve year old finds himself with the body of a strapping young nobleman, wouldn't he be tempted to punch the daylights out of those blighters? And what of that nobleman in the little body of the golden haired boy with curls? A delightful read...

    Fun but not Wodehouse's best

A bit silly at times & a bit too contrived even for Wodehouse, but still fun enough to deserve 3 stars. Not 5 though, because it didn't make me laugh out loud like I usually do with most of his books.

    A rummy novel from Wodehouse

A rummy novel, in Wodehouse’s words! The first quarter is witty and enjoyable. I found the mid-part a bit dull though. The comic momentum gathers pace in the last half with its series of hilarious events in the lives of Joey Cooley and Lord Havershot. The character of Egremont Mannering (Eggy) was typical and funny. I love the way how Wodehouse ends his stories, so pleasantly!

Please be assured, you wouldn't be disappointed with this read.

    not so cool

starts off wonderfully, but loses steam midway. Wodehouse's vivid imagination works well initially, but it becomes an overdose midway. The description of the state of the press and Hollywood during the great depression is fascinating.

    Great book

In usual P G Wodehouse style there is some serious mix up and total confusion. The characters are different from the blandings or Jeeves novels. However, delightful as always.

    Classic Humor

Wodehouse is Wodehouse as they would often say. He can never be but funny and he responsibly makes sure that you get your funny bone twisted and turned every time you dare to pick up his book and start. He is one of my most favourite author of all times and one needs to read his books to know why. Laughing Gas is just another story but somehow it's from a different point of view. Wonderful read. Must try. Flipkart delivery was really superb.
