The Lava X1 is truly a fantastic phone. The 4.5 inch screen has a FWVGA display of 854x480 and offers great viewing angles. The primary camera is 8 MP and has dual LED flash which is great because it leads to brighter pictures at night. The 2 MP front camera is equally important as it makes taking selfies an awesome experience as the images don’t get too blurry when posted on social media.

This new advent of ‘budget phones’ in the market is quite intriguing from an marketing perspective for someone like me, which is why this time when it was time to purchase a new phone, I went in for the Lava x1 to see what the hype was all about. As I’ve heard more good news regarding Lava as a brand than the other budget phones, it was clear to me that the new phone had to come from this company. When you open the box, you are greeted with the usual assortment of things such as the phone itself, battery, earphones, and an USB charger. But you also get other things like a screen guard, a micro USB to standard USB OTG cable and a flip cover as well. The extra goodies are a definite plus and are really quite useful.

I compared this phone with all the other competitors and seems like this phone is the best of the bunch, the camera is without a doubt the best feature of the phone. It has an 8 mp primary camera with 2 LED flashes and 2 mp front facing camera. The screen may just be a FWVGA screen but i can bet that it helps to make sure that the battery runs for quite a while since it is so efficient. The Phone is a good one in this Budget Range. I did not buy it from Flipkart as it was coming costlier at that time compared to other sites, when i bought. I am writing this review after using the phone for close to 15 days and overall I will say, I am satisfied with the performance of the phone considering the price I paid for it.

It’s good to know that big companies like Lava actually listen to issues voiced by their customers. The 8 GB version of the X1 is exactly the same as the previous version of the X1 but the main difference is that the it has 8 Gb of internal memory as compared to 4 GB in the previous version. I’d say that this is a worthy improvement to a very good phone.

Let me be honest, I bought this X1 because it’s very budget friendly and I lost my previous phone in the metro and didn’t have the money to buy something like that again. So far in my experience with this phone, I have been pleasantly surprised. Obviously, I’m not saying that it is way better than the previous one but I am saying that it is definitely value for money.
