Laava(Hindi) by lycrist Javed Akhtar is the second collection of poems which is launched after more than a decade from his first poetry collection.
Summary Of The Book
Javed Akhtar is renowned as a movie lyricist and script writer. His compositions have added verve and depth to many highly popular Hindi movie songs over the decades. Laava (Hindi) is a collection of poems dealing with a range of subjects. Some of the poems have a questioning quality, as if they are probing for the deeper meaning of life. Others go into a range of human emotions like loss, loneliness and longing
They deal with subjects like atheism, the love and mutual support of a close couple, and the anxiety of a father looking for support in the loneliness of old age. The poems invoke a range of feelings and emotions in the reader, getting them involved in the compositions.
At a special reading of the book in a promotional event, the writer himself admitted that there had been too long a gap between his first and second books of poetry. He said that was because he found it difficult to find time in his hectic schedule to compose these works.
