Beauty and the beast..

I finally got my laptop today after a wait of 8 days (As intimated earlier by Flipkart) and the wait is totally worth it. First of all kudos to flipkart to have packed the item so well and for making the delivery on time. I could not have waited any longer. Now coming to the laptop, it's a piece of art. It looks beautiful, sturdy to hold, solid aluminium finish and the red keyboard backlight is the cherry on cake, literally. It comes with this hip lenovo backpack which only adds to the stu(r)...

Mid Range Gaming Beast

Fantastic Mid Range Gaming Machine
The Full HD 1920 x 1080 screen is a god sent after years spent on 1366 x 768 screens. 1080p Videos and High Res Photos look good with the screens colour reproduction. Glossy screen might put off prolonged use in sunlight; viewing angles are more than sufficient though.
The GeForce GT650M did splendidly on games released in 2012. The i7 handled a 250GB copy from USB 3.0, GTA IV, 18 tabs of IE and Photoshop without breaking a sweat. Ultrabay is a good upgradat...

Excellent Laptop

I actually decided to buy a laptop few months ago and started to look at all the different brands. This particular laptop took my attention at the first sight. No other laptop matched the specs of this laptop at this price range. But the only thing worried me was the bad reviews about the touchpad. I enquired flipkart and they told me that they dont have the recent stock. Finally I convinced myself to buy it and to repair the touch pad in lenovo service center incase of any problems. But to m...

Worth every buck. A detailed review for the layman and the techie.

First and foremost, you will not find any laptop in India or available to India with the following specs, i.e. a decent graphics card (not for hardcore gaming, but most 2013 games with med settings should give out playable framerates) on the other hand the graphic card is built for stuff like cad, movie editing etc. More rendering based. 8GB Ram, 6GB would've done, but 8GB makes it future proof, 3632QM is the much recent releases of the i7 3rd Gen and its by far the smallest(meaning lesser he...

Alienware Beater!

I just bought this laptop a week ago, and have literally faced no issues whatsoever, including the common touchpad problem as mine was manufactured in november 2012. The Graphic capabilities of the Nvidia GT650M 2GB GDDR5 are monstrous and is better than the Alienware M14X's Nvidia gt650 M 2 GB DDR3 and gives a constant 40-60 fps in 1080p (FULL HD) resolution on High settings in any 2013 game. It can play in Ultra too, but with a lower Resolution. The battery life is good, but not great with ...

TROUBLESOME TOUCHPAD

Of-course the specs are off the chart. For a 60k laptop, an i7 3632, 2gb ddr5 gt650 and a full HD display is tempting. And the Y500's feature to replace the user removable optical bay with another GPU is quite innovative and would really push the laptop's gaming performance even higher.

What worries me though is the bad reviews about its touchpad. You would find a lot of complains in lenovo's official forum about the touchpad being non-functional at times. Various complaints about the Ameri...

Great !!

Its a great laptop.....you can read those things in other reviews.
It has an ELAN touchpad. My touchpad malfunctioned a few times. I talked about it to Lenovo, they told me that they would replace my touchpad(hardware, I'll get new Synaptics touchpad).
The specs are great for the price , believe me........ Eye catcher is its red colour backlit keyboard !!!

Note:
*There is no SSD in Indian version of Y500
*There are 2 RAM slots in Y500 & one slot is free
*Complain about your faulty touchpad(E...
