Got this in July 2013 for 47k and find the price has gone up by 3k now! Happy with the performance. Battery is excellent.

Only things I wished were different is the function keys. You need to use SHIFT to use the function keys. The CD drive tends to open up when when your hand accidentally slides and touches it. Overall, very happy

I am using this laptop since past 3 and half months.

Lenovo had launched Thinkpad Edge series to target market of small / medium businesses, to attract people who can not afford Thinkpad T, X series, but still want Thinkpad. Edge series is definitely priced less than T and X series but at a compromise on built quality.

Following are 4 main reason people go for Thinkpad with points I give to Thinkpad Edge 430:
1) Built quality (1/5) - Not of Thinkpad quality
2) Work horse Performance (3/5)...

Except mouse track pad which is a crap...never found such a weird trackpad ..and if keypad could have been standard i.e. arrow keys, home key, page up, page down which I use very frequently...then this could have pulled another star of rating from me....

Performance is good...brightness is just okay...battery backup is good 3.5 hour...looks good...

The seller from Flipkart is selling old laptops. I have bought a laptop in September but the laptop which i received was manufactured in March. I have had time convincing Lenovo to upgrade my warranty starting time from September which for them have started from March.
