Does this device feature Soft AP /Hot spot function, as most devices now available do.

I have not used this product but would certainly like to and more so if it features hot spot as this could help connect additional devices.

Flipkart vendor delivered promptly. However it is not detected on Ubuntu 14.04LTS. It does not install using the supplied drivers (following all install instructions). It worked on Windows 7 using supplied driver though.

I won't recommend if you are looking to add wifi capability to your Ubuntu PC.

The product is fine if you use Windows, comes with a driver CD. Not recommended for Linux users.

I had this shipped to a friend's place while I was there. So all the Credit card details were in my name but the shipping address was in the name of the friend.

The reseller generated the invoice in the name of that friend which mean I can no longer claim it as an expense. I raised this with flipkart and their "company policy" prevents fixing this problem.

The first one was defective but was promptly replaced. The product is good for home use. I use it on my desktop computer, and it handles a distance of 5m from the router well enough with no signal drops. Just needs a restart sometimes as interface hangs - but that is not a problem.
