A fantastic read with a dark theme
There are these authors who can pen down lines so realistically that you would be surprised and make a remark ‘Isn’t that exactly how I felt about this?’, or ‘Why can’t I put these into words like this?’ Nayomi Munaweera belongs to that nice set of writers who are effectively able to portray human emotion via words. Masterful Saga - Nayomi mixes tragedy and crime beautifully
The novel open up with the story of the moon bear, which in retrospect made me realize, summarizes the book beautifully. The story is set in Nayomi’s island country of Sri Lanka. It is about a girl, Ganga who belongs to an affluent family and her journey from being a part of a troubled family to migrating to America and carving her own presence in that country.
