Author Info | - Asha Iyer Kumar is an Indian author, poet, columnist and children’s writing coach based in Dubai. She has been an Opinion page writer with Khaleej Times for several years.
She made her literary debut in 2009 with Sand Storms, Summer Rains, a novel based on the lives of Indian immigrants in the Arabian Gulf, and published a book of verse, Hymns from the Heart, in 2014. An e-book of Short Stories, ‘Let it Be, Love’ was released in 2018. Her latest collection of short stories, ‘After the Rain – Stories that bind us’ was published in September, 2019.
Her short story, Free Spirit, was published in the anthology, ‘The Other’, edited by Mona Verma and Abha Iyengar in 2018. Her flash Fiction ‘The Temple Dancer’ has also been included in the anthology ‘EquiverseSpace’ published in September, 2018. ‘Payback’ a story of love and revenge was published in the December 2018 issue of The Punch magazine. She also won the Arts Illustrated Short Story contest in February 2020.
Apart from this, she regularly contributes to online blogs in India.
