Carpal Tunnel Saviour

I mainly use the mouse on my computer because I work with graphics applications quite a bit. I work with multiple monitors and therefore need to move the mouse around a large screen area. I quickly developed aches in my wrists and the top side of my hand while using my old Apple Magic Mouse. I looked at the Logitech M570 as a solution to my problem as it has just one ball and also doesn't require it to be moved around.

It is a difficult product to review

Either you love it or you hate it. There is no middle ground. It works fine on Linux. sometimes when you are not using it goes to sleep (not sure) because you've to scroll the trackball two three times to woke it. Built quality is nice but scroll and buttons are not top quality. Over all good product .

Flawed, but excellent

I'm a designer and as such use my mouse for long periods of time. Anything over a couple of hours and I get Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This happens because your wrist is being used to make tiny, pressurized movements to move an ungainly mouse. Very, very bad for you.

This exceeds all mice - ever!!!

I will just make it point wise :

Pros:
1. Saves the wrist. No more pain! (Most important for me)
2. no more space hassles to move the cursor as the mouse remains stationary, therefore, works great on glass surfaces and bed sheets!
3. Fits very nicely under the palm
4. Comes with Unifying USB dongle i.e up to 6 compatible wireless devices can be connected to one USB dongle.
5. The ball is easily removable for cleaning, quiet convenient!

Usual problems

My unit is less than a year old and it has already developed the double clicking problem that has plagued tons of Logitech models. I would have to hunt for the invoice (did not buy from Flipkart) to try to get a replacement under warranty. A Google search confirms that this model suffers from this issue. Apart from this issue, this trackball has been fantastic.

A fine product

I bought it from flipkart. Great service!!!
About the product: Its a large mouse and very comfortable to use. But it takes a lot of time(1-2 months) to get completely used to it. Also it might not be suitable for gaming as trackball can't be controlled that precisely. The sculpted shape actually helps in wrist pains and so I recommend people suffering from Carpel Tunnel to give it a try. Overall a great product.

Try before you buy

Seller shipped fast. However, I didn't feel comfortable with this, though i've used trackballs earlier (those where trackballs operated by your index and middle finger). My thumb couldn't get used with this. Probably its just me. Try it before you buy.

No question in the product quality and seller's shipment. However, its a product which doesn't fit me.
