Good casual read

The book is an interesting casual read with good narrations and character built up. It is narrated from the eyes of Palash, the lead character, father of a young girl, broken, drug addict and most of the time in drunken state. The way he thinks is not expected to be too sane, and so it took time for me to understand his point of view. There were places where I hated him and felt justified for his loss as it was difficult for me to put myself in the shoes of the narrator.

Generally, in most ...

Victory of flawed characters

This one is a surprise package, filled with all flawed up and wrecked characters who come together in a magical confluence of perfection.

Awesome story, with lots of adult themes like - aging, loss, spirituality and sexuality. Awesome writing, well paced yet builds vividly the few out-of-place and misfit characters that this story has. Just a very breakaway kinda book in the hordes of romance, mythology and corpo-life books that we are used to seeing these days.

Applaud the courage of this ...

A father's nightmare

Story-line : The story-line is strong and relevant. One can easily connect to the hell a parent goes through on realizing that his/her child is lost, maybe forever. The drift that follows between two people on account of the loss or sudden disappearance of the one link that keeps them together in a sea of uncertainty, is something on can relate to easily. The menace of prostitution, drug addiction and the ruthlessness of the drug cartel/ mafia that run the trade are things relevant not only t...

Lost in Pattaya

Inspite of a slow and gloomy start where a father loses his pre-teen daughter in the crowded streets of Pattaya and his subsequent separation from his wife, the books gains pace and has a racy story when he decides to search for his daughter.
He gets entangled in the sex trade mafia and encounters Thuy Binh and Miho and what ensures is just as if it is straight out of a movie.

Gritty intense read

This book is as much a story of the protagonist losing and finding himself in Pattaya as much as it is about his daughter's disappearance.

A gritty intense read about a father's struggle to find his daughter and himself in Pattaya.

A thrilling book

This book is simply un put downable. An edge of the seat thriller, its a fast paced story of a father who loses his daughter in the busy streets of Thailand. A tale that will keep you turning the pages to know whether or not they are united. The language is racy and it is rare to come across books that help you visualise the story as if it is happening to you. A must read if you are looking for a book that combines a solid story with a powerful narration

A must-read!

Kishore Modak has done it again. This book engages you till the last word. The journey that you undertake with the protagonist is so thrilling that you start relating with his guilt, helplessness and desperation. The language is gripping. This is tale of a father who sets out looking for his lost daughter and comes face to face with situations that push him deeper into the world of human trafficking and prostitution. Whether or not he is able to find her and even if he finds her, is it too la...
