John Dryden's Mac Flecknoe rises beyond the level of lampoon to include an attack on general literary taste. The poet uses all the weapons of satire with consummate skill as well as smooth urbanity. But Dryden was a versatile poet. Besides satire, he also wrote Odes and Argumentative poems. This edition of Mac Flecknoe and Other Poems has the following salient features: • Complete Text, Paraphrase and Annotations of Mac Flecknoe, A Song for St. Cecillia's Day and Alexander's Feast, besides critically evaluating To Anne Killigrew and Religio Laici • Comprehensive Discussion on Important Textual Aspects • Important University Questions with Answers • Selected Literary Criticism
