Peaceful poetry

Brilliant Work!
Must say, every line in this book was worth it. The lyrical structure, the philosophical outlook, the brilliant metaphors! I have read the book at least 3 times in the past one year and I'm sure I'm gonna revisit! You can easily tell why this book achieved iconic status when first published 1935, and boy does it still hold relevance! The book is a journey through life. I highly recommend it.

Brilliant set of poems
If you have not read this, then you have not read a master piece of hindi potery. The ease and beauty with which Mr. Bachhan describes various facets of life using the Madhushala, Saki and Hala are just amazing.

A beautiful metaphorical peotry
Some verses may be uncomfortable but over-all this is an interesting poetry. Adapted much from Khayyam's Rubais.. The Rubai's are very difficult to understand even with their translation whereas Madhushaala is very simple and easy to understand.. I prefer Urdu poetry though, and therefore find this pure Hindi poetry sometimes very plain and tasteless. Few verses are just tasteless but few are great. 5/5 from my side.
