Magyk First Harper Trophy Edition is the first book in the Septimus Heap series.

Summary Of The Book

This series narrates a tale of fantasy that revolves around a boy named Septimus Heap, who is the seventh son of the seventh son, which leads to him being endowed with special powers.

Magyk First Harper Trophy Edition is the first book in the series and is a special paperback edition.

Magyk begins with Silas Heap trekking home through the deep snow to get back to his family, as his wife is about to deliver their seventh child. As he walks on, he magically senses a heartbeat in the snow and uncovers a baby girl with violet eyes.

The Heap family is very poor, but Silas decides to take the baby home out of compassion. He hides the baby inside his cloak to shelter her from the weather, and continues his trek homeward.

On reaching home, he hears the tragic news. The midwife tells him that his wife gave birth to a boy, but the child died at birth. The bereaved family decides that the little girl was given to them in their son’s place and raise her as their own. They name her Jenna.

But things are not as they seem. Marcia Overstrand, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard of the land, warns Silas to secretly harbor the story of how he found Jenna. Silas promises her that he would guard the secret.

When the family is celebrating Jenna’s tenth birthday, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard Marcia shows up and tells them that Jenna’s life is in danger and that she has to take her away to protect her. The Heap family reluctantly give Jenna to Marcia.

Marcia takes Jenna to her house to keep her safe, but her plans are upset by unexpected circumstances. They are chased by assassins who aim to kill Jenna. On the way to the house, Marcia also rescues a boy buried in the snow, a boy who is simply known as Boy 412.

As Marcia, Boy 412, and Jenna flee from the assassins, they are also joined by the Heap family who come together to protect Jenna. As they set off on a perilous journey to escape from their pursuers, startling secrets are revealed about Jenna and the mysterious Boy 412.

A very good teenage intro into fantasy

This is a teen book. It may not be as famous as the Harry Potter series, but it will hold its own against it. If you read it as an adult, you need to keep in mind that it was written for kids. I have and thouroughly enjoyed this and the others in the series. (Physik being the best IMHO)

Cheap reprint- not worth the money

Please do not buy this book from the seller uRead. The book I received is a cheap reprint of very poor quality. Flipkart must take measures to check such issues as these amount to copyright violation. This is definitely not expected from Flipkart.
