About The Authors
A philanthropist, social worker and writer, Sudha Kulkarni Murthy, is a prominent Indian personality. She has written in both English and Kannada and her works have been translated to other languages as well.
Some of her best loved works include How I Taught My Grandmother To Read, Wise and Otherwise, Gently Falls The Bakula, Old Man and His God, and The Day I Stopped Drinking Milk. Her works like Dollar Bahu have been made into serials.
Sudha Murthy was born in the year 1950 in Shiggaon, Karnataka. When Mrs.Murthy is not immersed in her world of books and drama, she likes to explore the fields of anthropology, computer science, maths and logic. She is the recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri award and also the ‘Karnataka Rajyotsava’ State Award. She has also won other awards like Youth Service Department Prize from Government of Karnataka, C S Desai Prize, Millenium Mahila Shiromani, and Raja-Lakshmi Award 2004. Married to Mr.Narayan Murthy, she is currently the trustee of the Infosys foundation.
Rekha Tantri, an actor, radio jockey and also a chartered accountant, is a gifted multi tasker.
She has been a part of the famous theatre troupe “Vedike”. She has also been the lead actor in plays like Soul for life, Shakalaka Shakara among others.
