Summary Of The Book
The USMLE or the United States Medical Licensing Examination is required to be passed for practicing medicine in the United States. The examination consists of 3 Steps. The Step 3 examination is the final examination of the USMLE, which assesses whether the candidate can apply his or her knowledge of medical theory and concepts in different situations and on different types of patients in an unsupervised environment.
The test not only assesses an exhaustive knowledge of medicine, but also tests if candidates can work with patients with different case histories and the patient management skills of the candidate. The test is a 16 hour exam held over two days. The first day consists of 336 multiple choice questions. In the second day of the test, candidates have to complete 144 multiple choice questions and 12 clinical case simulation exercises.

About The Authors
Conrad Fischer, MD, is an associate professor of Medicine and Physiology at Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York.
He has authored Master the Boards: USMLE Step 2 CK, Master the Boards USMLE Medical Ethics and Master the Boards: Internal Medicine.
He is also the chairman of the Kaplan Medical which trains candidates for the USMLE.
Sonia Reichert, MD, is a hematology and oncology fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City.
