Maxims Of Chanakya (Sanskirt to English) is a compilation of the teachings of Chanakya taken from the three books of Arthasastra, Chanakyasutras, and Chanakya-rajanitisastra. Chanakya, who is also known as Kautilya, is often referred to as the Indian Machiavelli. He was known for his political acumen and statecraft with which he helped Chandragupta Maurya establish his empire. His teachings span almost all spheres of life, from economics, ethics, and education to health, politics, and administration. This book has the essentials of his teachings which are translated in English for readership among people who may not be conversant in Sanskrit. Even in translation, the work retains the sharpness of Chanakya's wit and brevity. The pithy comments of Chanakya are capable of conveying both beautiful and grave messages even with a few words.
