The world famous Eiffel Tower, or the Iron Lady as the French like to call it, is a huge metal monolithic construction designed by a French Engineer by the name of Gustave Eiffel. The Tower was erected back in 1889 and had retained the title of the tallest man made structure for almost 40 years until the construction and completion of the Chrysler Building in America. The height of the tower is about 320 meters from the base, to the tip and is as tall as an average 80 storey building.
