a good book for gate and other psu's . the best thing about the book is that it gives a very clear cut picture of the amount of theory you have to go through.it gives a very through picture of what one has to study.

After studying this book ,i can surely say that this book is best for mechanical engg gate entrance exam and also helpful for LEET exams all over the India.

Ordered the book on Tuesday afternoon, and got it by Wednesday evening
packaging was good (ie) no damage to the book,
Overall,Happy with the service provided by flipkart.
And the book pretty much covers everything under GATE's syllabus and the content is explained clearly and understandable(till whatever i have studied ~ around 80 pages)

it is having many miss prints but you could identify them if you have studied the topic well.

theory part is good and detailed. multiple choice questions are given but many are different from what are asked in gate. gate qp is solved from 2005 to 2011.
overall it is ok but not good.

if you could some better book then don't buy this.

This book has covered all the topics properly. Moreover, more emphasis is given to the basics of every subject being covered.
Despite some text mistakes, I have found the book to be really good and has helped me to build self-confidence.

This book has mainly focused on the basics of each topic covered which are not only essential for a learner but is also important from gate point-of-view as the questions in GATE mainly focus on the basics in depth rather than descriptive type of questioning.
Talking about the overall quality, the book is comprehensive, sensibly elaborated to the required depth.

This book has quite a few mistakes. Typos, skipped solutions, etc. Also, Vikas Slariya doesnt cover the syllabus comprehensively. Entire topics like virtual work, etc which form a part of gate syllabus are skipped. The approach and level of problems is high school, not undergrad. Statics, which forms an important part of prescribed books such as timoshenko, dont arise in this book.
