Directed and co-written by Anant Mahadevan and starring Jyoti Chandekar, Neena Kulkarni and Upendra Limaye, Mee Sindhutai Sapkal is a Marathi biographical drama film that follows the life story of a woman named Sindhutai Sapkal. A poor village girl who grew up tending to cattle and was forced to get married when she was 12, Sindhutai is eventually accused of bearing another man’s child and thrown out of her home unjustly. Having faced dire adversity, Sindhutai sets out on a mission to give a better life to orphaned children by raising money for her homeless shelter.
