I have gone through several texts on electronics such as Boylestad,Malvino, Milman Halkias and some of the Indian authors' as well but I found this as more explanatory and concept building.The numerical examples are so designed to test your acquired knowledge on the topic that you can benchmark your extent of concepts understood.Equally good is the chapter end questions.

5th Edition is more than sufficient

First let me tell Sedra and Smith is one of the best book for analog designers.But this 6th edition disappointed me very much.They just re arranged 5th edition.They took some topics from 5th edition 2nd chapter and put it in the 1st chapter of 6th edition.like that made some arrangements and released 6th edition !!!!!!!!1

Iam very exited with this book. Its a classic Microelectronics textbook. The best selling textbook with so many examples and solved problems to understand the concepts well. Excellent and Comprehensive Book - If this is not your first time with the subject

I'm only on chapter 1 but I really do feel this is one really good book. I have several reasons.

1. The authors give an high level description of electronic circuits in Chapter 1 itself. It builds a lot of intuition on Amplifiers right at the beginning. I would guess that the remaining chapters, fill in the gaps and get into the details.

2. There are Practice Problems embedded within each Chapter. I love textbooks which follow this format (Hayt & Sadiku do this in their books on electromagn...
