A truly portable HotSpot using RJ45 and USB dongle and also a Power Bank for charging

My requirement was a hotspot devise with the following aspects
- Should support RJ-45 the broadband cable line at home
- Should support USB Internet Dongle
- Should have inbuilt battery, so i can use it where there is no power socket
- Price should be less than 2000, investing in such a hotspot device for more is a waste

The above requirements were matched by Huawei's, TP Link's and Micromax and other. But Micromax was far better as the battery inbuilt was 4400mah which would last for 8hrs o...

Multipurpose

Bought it to connect my Reliance NetConnect, unfortunately the Reliance dongle doesn't work right away with this, I had to manually enter the right settings to make it work. Since I didn't find any proper documentation on how to make Reliance NetConnect work with the Micromax router, I'm going to give a short explanation here for other buyers:-

I used my mobile browser to enter the configurations page and modify the settings, so here goes:-

1) - Turn on mobile WiFi and make sure Micromax is...

Great product!

I have been using multiple models of Micromax 3G dongles for quite some time now and the experience has been really great! I bought this device because the brand has already built a trust in me.

Pros
------

+ Works out of the box (no set-up, no tweaks; tested with multiple data cards EvDO, 3G, CDMA dongles)
+ Power bank feature is really great. (In-case you are wondering, the 4400 mAh battery lets you charge 2 iPhone 5s of battery 10% to 100% in 45-50 mins; provided you are using the device...

Worth buying. One year of usage and no problems.

EDIT after one year usage - Its still working great. One of very few products that I am very satisfied with.

I usually don't write reviews but this product is worth writing about for people who have second thoughts buying this.

Pros
+Easy to setup.
+Very good interface.
+Battery indicator(4 bars).
+Good range for its size.
+Portable.
+Can almost run 8-10 hours straight without power supply.
+Can be used as PowerBank for mobile phones.
+Little above average built quality.
+Multi colour ligh...

Micromax Router

Good Thing : Operating system independent, Easy to use, Fair battery backup(6hrs), Nice to have for travelers, someone who uses internet rarely in day , or someone who have network problem where system is used in that case you can keep router in network area and connect it through wifi

If you are looking this as an alternate to traditional broadband router, it not an fair comparison.

My Experience is with USB Datacard

its kind of okay for backup or fair use, Can not expect 3 or more device...

Good device for the price.. but dont buy if you have a datacard manufactured by ZTE

First things first: This device seems to have compatibility issues with ZTE brand datacards. I tried with two different ZTE data cards ( Airtel 4g and Reliance pro3) both didnt connect.

I then tried with a huawei Airtel 4g card and it worked just fine.

Now to the review:
I have been searching for a portable 3g/ 4g router for a while now. After comparing a lot of products, I finally landed on this router.
Pros:
1. Cheaper when compared to similar products from other brands
2. 4400 mAh batter...

Somthing new with MMX 440W

I bought this device two days back and its more than my expectation.
Apart from 4400mah battery, best part with this device are:
You can use it as a Wifi hub. Just connect with your Pendrive or external hard disk and share your media files. But you need to configure it and you can access from Android device and laptop.
It takes 1.5 mins to get connected with my Airtel 3G. I also tried to connect with Airtel 4G dongle, but it accepts 3G Signals by default.

Battery backup comes around 4-5 hrs ...

Excellent. Exactly what I had hoped for!

I purchased this to use with my Tata Photon plus dongle. It worked directly out of the box, without any special configuration. Also I see someone who writes in his review that the UI is crappy, well I thought it wasn't crappy at all. It was adequate and had all the options very well organized. Its compact and looks great too plus a 4400mah batt. I'm writing this review with the data rendered via this router! I've connected my Laptop, Phone, Tab and ipod at the same time and it is seamless.. I...
