Another smartphone from Micromax’s Superfone series, the Micromax Superfone Infinity A80 is a budget smartphone that caters to the user’s entertainment needs as well as socializing requirements. The device has a bar form and includes a dual SIM (GSM + GSM) functionality for those users who use more than a single SIM for work and personal use or for users who prefer using more than a single network operator. The Superfone Infinity A80 uses the tried and tested Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) OS which is backed up by an 800 MHz processor. A 512 MB RAM ensures that the various apps that can be used on this phone run smoothly.
The screen is a 3.7-inch TFT Touchscreen display that offers an HVGA resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. The large screen makes it easier for the user to view and interact with the phone.
The device also possesses a 5 megapixel primary camera which allows video recording on it as well. The heavy features on the phone are powered by a 2500 mAh Li-Ion battery which promises to provide a lengthy 7 hours of talktime when used on the 2G network.
Connectivity and Features
The device comes with a pre-installed Chrome Mini and WAP browser. The Superfone A80 also comes packed with GPRS and EDGE technology to stay connected to the internet via the 2G network. For a better rate of data transfer the phone is also capable of connecting to the 3G network. The Micromax Superfone A80 is also capable of connecting to a WiFi network to browse the internet. Files and documents can also be exchanged using the USB port or the Bluetooth function. The phone supports GPS technology and becomes a navigation aid in the form of Google Maps.
Other features that are included in the phone are Swype, Intuitive Text Input, Swap Call and Auto Rotate which make the phone simple to use. Other Social apps that can be used on the device include Facebook, Whatsapp and Gmail.
