Description

People who work on computers at home or in the office know how much their hands hurt after long sessions of typing due to poor typing posture and hand positioning. Most people just ignore this fact and continue to work till it becomes a serious issue and by that time, the treatment might cost more or you’ll have to take days off work to recover. So if your work involves you typing or researching a lot on a computer, it is important to get an ergonomic keyboard to reduce the strain on your hand and to make work more pleasant.

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 was developed after extensive research with leading ergonomic experts to ensure you have the most comfortable hand positioning while you pound away on your keyboard day after day. The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 tries to correct the way your wrist and hand is positioned to ensure you work or play better. Unnatural positioning of the hand also reduces your work speed and fatigues you faster. At first sight the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 looks a bit strange due to the layout of keys but it is designed to provide a natural angle for your hand. This cutting-edge keyboard is connected to your computer by way of a USB 2.0 cable

Style and Portability

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 has dimensions of 503 x 262 x 82.8 mm which is large for a keyboard, but the ergonomic features that constitute the additional space are worth it when you consider how comfortable this keyboard is to use. The curved key bed and the natural arc are examples of how the usability and ergonomic experts at Microsoft made this Microsoft Keyboard more intuitive, comfortable and user-friendly. Commonly used symbols like the equals to sign, brackets and Backspace have additional keys assigned to them and they are placed above the Number Pad for easy access.

The gable design of the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 keeps your forefingers higher than your little fingers which allow you to adopt a natural position while typing. There are 107 keys on this Microsoft Keyboard with dedicated keys for various Windows and Internet shortcuts. The integrated palm rest offers greater support while you work due to its plush cushioned surface. This Microsoft Keyboard has a reverse slope that helps your hand and wrists rest naturally for greater comfort while you work.

Performance and Connectivity

The Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 has extra keys that can be customised to open your preferred applications at the press of a button. These hot keys are located on top in the centre and can be used to open your email or access your library documents. This keyboard works well with computers running on Windows XP, 7, Vista, 2000 with SP4 or Mac OS. The Function Keys have dual functions and can be accessed by deactivating the F Lock. The shortcuts are labelled on the F Keys to avoid any confusion and it makes you faster at work as you don’t need to use your mouse to get things done.

While playing music or videos you can control the volume and playback options directly from the keyboard. The Media Keys and the mute button are located on the right side of the Hot Keys. The novel zoom button is located in the centre of the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 and can be used to zoom in and out of documents and webpages. The minimum system requirements to install this Microsoft Keyboard are a computer with a USB port, Windows or Mac OS, CD-ROM drive and 60 MB of hard disk space.

Amazing product..!!but it disappointed me :(

This is an amazing product. However, after 2 months as 2 of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. The enter key and the menu shortcut key just refused to work. When I tried fixing it at an authorized service center, they said my keyboard is eligible for warranty but they're not sure whether they're authorized to fix it. It seems the problem was that my keyboard was not registered online making it eligible for warranty. I'm disappointed at FLIPKART because they did not inform me about regi...

Nice and Comfortable

I do a lot of programming and hence I required a keyboard that is ergonomic and reasonably priced (not a Rs25,000/-) one. So, I kept on searching and found this keyboard to be reasonably priced.

If you have been using wrong hands to type the letters on the keyboard, you are going to have issues. I have the habit of typing the letter "b" with my right hand. This caused me an issue for about 3-4 days after which I got habituated to this keyboard.

There is a sweet spot for the space bar (alm...

Natural Comfort

This is really a great keyboard and is a must have for any programmer. Before purchasing this keyboard I searched for reviews and many people complained about the spacebar that it's sticky, the fact is when I started using the keyboard the spacebar was not as easy to press as rest of the keys but after using it for couple of days/weeks it softened and now it's as soft as rest of the keys.

Pros:-
- Natural Wrist Position, great comfort.

Cons:-
- The scroll key is by default for zooming and ...

'The One' for touch typists

This keyboard is not for you if :

1. You type with two fingers or with one hand
2. You type sitting at awkward angles and with keyboard on your lap
3. You keep keyboard on the floor

If you do touch typing (typing without looking at keys) and love sitting in erect posture, this keyboard is definitely for you. The space bar will be a bit hard to press initially but it does soften later. The cushioning on the palm rest is superb and gives much needed support to your palms (unlike those other ...

Good keyboard, but falls painfully short on the space bar

I used this product for a month. I have RSI in my thumb due to typing and using keyboards at work. However, with this product, the space bar is a big problem and is very hard. I use one thumb to press the space bar and the keyboard actually aggravated my RSI.

It may have been the piece I used and I have asked for a return and a replacement if possible. But to future buyers - this is not a cheap keyboard so I would strongly suggest you try at a store before you guy.

The other keys are butter...

Good for your health

I've been a regular user of ergonomic keyboards since approx. 1999. This is currently the best price/value ergonomic keyboard in the market.

How is it ergonomic? The shape of the keyboard reduces the wrist angles between the forearm and the hand to zero and significantly reduces the forearm rotation angle between elbow and wrist by approx. 30 degrees to effectively 60 degrees instead of 90 degrees.
This reduces the mechanical and muscular strain on the bones, tendons and joints, reducing the...

:(, After 3 months, two keys stopped working properly

After 3 months of using it, the z and c keys have stopped working. I certainly do not expect this to happen to a keyboard which is a bit costly than others. I didn't pay more for the sake of this hassle.

Is ergonomic but

I bought this mainly for the ergonomic feature and that is good.
The product however died on me within 5 months of regular operation
I wasn't expecting that it would die so soon. That was very disappointing indeed and hence the 3 stars.
However it does offer the comfort that one would expect from an ergonomic product and I did benefit from the use of it. My wrist pain (I am on the computer 10-12 hrs everyday) stopped!

Another point worth a mention here would be that replacement is an issue....

The Best Keyboard

If you are concerned about your fingers, wrists, etc, then go for it without the second thought. If you want to know the meaning of being comfortable while typing, then you should use it for a day or two. After that you won't touch any other keyboard in the world. It's a life-saver for me. Two thumbs up for this gem.
