Summary of the Book
Ghalib’s ghazals are read, recited, researched and remembered even today because of their transcendental quality. His poetry is exceptional as they illustrate his spiritual struggles, and its bare honesty speaks to a universal audience. This title is a collection of 100 such famous works chosen from the complete translation of the revered Diwan-e-Ghalib, published by the Ghalib Institute, New Delhi. All the ghazals are first given in Urdu, followed by its translation in English. They are also written both in Hindi and English languages.
About Sarvat Rahman
Dr. Sarvat Rahman graduated from the Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi. After working in several hospitals in India, she got into the area of Fundamental Medical Research (Immunology) in France. Taking over the love of letters and of Urdu and Persian poetry from her scholarly mother, Dr. Rahman is living with her family in Dehradun after retirement.
