Mississippi Burning

Not a flamboyant actor, but Gene Hackman carries the role of an aging officer playing second fiddle to Dafoe as they investigate 3 missing persons in down South. The undercurrent of racism stirs up and seem to boil over during the investigation. Both Gene Hackman & Dafoe play out their roles beautifully. The dueling brings out the conflict: way of the law versus worldly wise maturity, in these two characters.
