Memory cards - you can’t do without one as long as you are using or dealing with electronic gadgets such as smartphones, cameras and camcorders. This is because we live in a digital age where most of our memories are captured by a phone or a camera. And memory cards play an instrumental role in keeping your data safe, at least until you move them to a more secure or permanent storage account. So if you love downloading multiple videos, taking hundreds of selfies or capturing every important moment, space will never be a constraint as long as you have memory cards to provide backup to your phone’s internal memory. These cards are provided by different brands but the most popular one is Sony. Sony memory cards are widely bought across the country because of their variety and durability. Plus, the brand not only offers memory cards for mobiles, but for cameras and handycams as well.

Buying Sony memory cards is not rocket science. You can get them online easily without even stepping out of your house. However, the few things that you need to keep in mind while buying them are the class of Sony memory cards, their types and sizes. You also need to check if they are compatible with your device.

Sony Memory Card Classes

You can find them in two different varieties. The class 10 which is the fastest among all the existing classes and transfers data at an amazing speed and the class 4 which is comparatively slower, but good for recording videos. They are easily recognisable as these numbers are written inside a circle on the cards.

Types of Sony Memory Cards

Micro SD Cards - These types of memory cards are compact in size and are mostly used in mobile phones and tablets. Sony has both class 10 and class 4 MicroSD cards available in a range starting from 8GB to 128GB. Some of them even come with a memory card adapter which allows you to use them with your laptop or notebook as well.

Sony SD cards - These types of memory cards are bigger than micro cards and are used in digital cameras and video recorders. Most of them are compatible with HD video recording and come with a file rescue software that helps you recover the lost photos and videos. They also come with a lock switch that helps in preventing data loss. These cards come with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB storage space.

XQD Memory Cards - These types are made for high-resolution digital cameras and HD camcorders. They came into the market as a replacement for CompactFlash standard cards and can offer storage space up to 128GB.

Memory Sticks - These are invented by Sony. They use serial interface to move data from the device to the card. The brand offers Duo, PRO Duo and PRO-HG Duo memory sticks which you can use for your Cyber-shot, Handycam and PSP as well.

Your local shops might not have all these models, but most shopping websites will. So buy Sony memory cards online for your mobile handset and camera and take as many selfies you want without worrying about memory space.
